Phishing

We want to ensure that everyone is aware of how to recognize and report phishing attempts to keep our organization secure.

By following these steps, you can help protect yourself and our organization from phishing attacks. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please reach out to the Help Desk.

Reporting Suspicious Emails:

If you receive a suspicious email, please report it to the security team. Attach the suspicious email to a new message and send it to security@untsystem.edu.

Check the Sender's Email Address:
Phishing emails often come from addresses that look legitimate but have slight variations.

Look for Urgent or Threatening Language:
Be cautious of emails that prompt immediate action using urgent or threatening language.

Identify Unusual Requests:
Be wary of emails asking for sensitive information such as passwords, credit card numbers, or personal details.

Check for Poor Grammar and Spelling:
Many phishing emails contain spelling mistakes and poor grammar.

Inspect Links and Attachments:
Hover over links to see the actual URL before clicking. Be cautious of unexpected attachments.
