In its preamble to the Model Rules of Professional Responsibility, the American Bar Association states: 鈥淎 lawyer, as a member of the legal profession, is a representative of clients, an officer of the legal system, and a public citizen having special responsibility for the quality of justice.鈥� A legal education is the gateway to serving these roles as a lawyer, and a student鈥檚 legal education is itself a critical period in his or her professional formation. Thus, all students at the 麻豆传媒映画 College of Law are expected to abide by the high ethical and conduct standards needed to serve as representatives of clients, officers of the legal system, and public citizens with special responsibility for the quality of justice. These expectations are expressed in and put into operation through two avenues: the Honor Code, and the Code of Conduct. The Honor Code expresses and puts into operation the expectation ofacademic integrity.
The Code of Conduct contains standards of conduct designedto foster a safe learning environment reflecting the core values of civility, reasoning, respect for the rights and property of others, and respect for and understanding of diverse viewpoints. For the Code of Conduct, please consult
