Programs for Minors

As part of its academic mission, the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ creates academic and sports programming for minors.  Some of these programs include the TRIO and Pre-Collegiate Programs, Upward Bound, Talent Search, Rising Blazers, McNair and Trailblazer Elite programs.  

Whether the minors are in the care, custody and control of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­D or a third-party, the following procedures must be followed to ensure compliance with (policytech.com).

The Camp Director is responsible to ensure that the camp complies with all policies and procedures. The Camp Director will keep all documentation regarding their camp for auditing purposes.


Procedures

  • Each Program for Minors must be registered with Risk Management.
  • Each adult involved in a program with minors must have an annual background check.  
  • Sexual Assault and Child Molestation Awareness Training (SACMAT) training must be taken every 2 years.  
  • Accidental medical insurance for the group is required.

All groups (internal and external) must register their program with Risk Management. See Forms section below.

 

Background Checks

All background checks are conducted through IntelliCorp. 

Each background check costs a minimum of $19.00. The sponsoring department will be billed for the charges. Risk Management askriskmanagement@untdallas.edu can provide the link to the IntelliCorp portal.

 

Training

Sexual Assault and Child Molestation Awareness Training (SACMAT) is provided through the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Bridge platform.

Insurance

All campers must have accidental medical insurance.  Internal camps must purchase this insurance through Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­.

External campus must either provide proof of insurance or

All camps, internal and external, must comply with the guidance below for adult to child ratios.

Laboratories
