I am delighted and deeply honored to serve as the Dean of the School of Behavioral Health and Human Services at the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³», the premier anchor institution in the City of Dallas. Welcome to one of the most impressive schools for preparing leaders in the field of social, counseling, mental health, and child and family services. In my time here and as an engaged Human Services professional, scholar, active researcher, and community partner, I have seen how our faculty and staff’s commitment to excellence and community collaboration sets this school apart. Together we work to prepare our students to face some of the greatest challenges as they learn how to effect change with individuals, transform lives of families, and strengthen groups and communities. Our faculty and students strive to make a difference as they develop skills in theory and in practical application.
We take every opportunity to provide a diverse array of learning opportunities for our students. We provide our students, through the interactions with individual faculty, a welcoming and intimate feel to the School of Behavioral Health and Human Services (BHHS). You will find that the faculty are dedicated to creating new learning opportunities through various experiential learning formats including service-learning, practicums, internships, and community service projects. BHHS faculty are accessible to students both in and out of the classroom. Our students represent diverse experiences and bring with them a wide variety of talents and interests. Yet, there is a commonality, the commitment to learning the skills and acquiring the knowledge necessary to become better citizens that contribute to the public good.
