Required Advising

University policy places an "Advising Required" hold on the accounts of all new and returning undergraduate students at 鶹ýӳ. Students on academic alert or probation will have a "GPA Alert" hold. Any student with an "Advising Required," "GPA Alert," or "TSI Not Complete" hold in their student center must schedule an appointment with an academic before registering for classes. This process helps students choose courses that support their academic success. Additionally, advisors address student questions related to these holds and refer them to the appropriate departments or staff for further assistance.

Appointment Policies

The Academic Advising Center supports admitted undergraduate students throughout their educational journey at 鶹ýӳ. The following guidelines provide important information about the appointment process for current students.

Please Read

  • The Academic Advising Center is available Monday – Friday from 8am-5pm to assist students with their academic planning needs.
  • To schedule your appointment, visit OR call (972) 338-1645 and our Front Desk team will help you schedule.
  • Appointments may be scheduled up to 48 hours in advance, however, same-day appointments are not available.
  • If you are more than 10 minutes late for a 30/60-minute appointment or more than 3 minutes late for a 15-minute appointment, your appointment will be rescheduled or canceled to accommodate other students.
  • After you schedule an appointment, a confirmation message will be sent to your 鶹ýӳD email via our scheduling system, EAB Navigate. Please review the details prior to your appointment.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, e-mail Advising@untdallas.edu or call Academic Advising Center at (972) 338-1645.
  • We ask that you contact us at least 24 hours in advance as possible so that we can make the best effort to offer that appointment time to another student.

  • To be fair to all students, we have a no-show policy. A no-show occurs when a student misses their appointment without cancelling in advance.
  • Please show up on time to your appointment. Students who arrive after appointment grace period for their scheduled appointment will be recorded as a “no show” on their advising record.
  • 2 or more no-shows in 10 days will temporarily pause your ability to self-schedule appointments. During this time, you can schedule appointments by calling or emailing our office.
